“PICTURE BOOK ART OF LEGGE AND SPUDVILAS EXHIBITION” will be at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum, Goondoon Street, Gladstone. Featuring the exquisite artwork of David Legge and Anne Spudvilas, the exhibition is free for the public to visit. WRITE ON! ADULT AND YOUNG ADULT WRITING & ILLUSTRATING WORKSHOPS at Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum (GRAGM) Sessions: 9.00-11.30am Illustrating a Story with David Legge OR Writing Picture Books with Frances Watts Lunch 12.30-3.00pm Writing Fiction for Young Adults and Children with Jackie French
OR Illustrating a Story with Anne Spudvilas 3.15-4.15pm Panel Discussion on Writing and Publishing with the authors, chaired by Robyn Sheahan-Bright Cost: $25 per workshop (GST not applicable). Max 20 participants in each. Lunch included if attending both morning and afternoon sessions. Panel Discussion open to all workshop participants.

BOOK LINKS QLD INC LAUNCH of Travelling Suitcases project at 12.30pm at CQU. Following their display at Central Queensland University Gladstone campus during Carnivale, the Travelling Suitcases will then be held at the Gladstone City Library until 25th August 2012. Schools are encouraged to reserve one or all of the Suitcases to use in classrooms for a few days at a time. Schools can reserve the Travelling Suitcases at the Gladstone City Library, suen@gladstonerc.qld.gov.au. They will be excellent to use during Children’s Book Week in August. Bookings for Travelling Suitcases open on 14th May.

'NET A STORY': ONLINE PROJECT will be convened by highly regarded author Kathryn Apel who is based in the Gladstone region. Expressions of Interest for schools participating open 30 January, project commences 20 February, and Kathryn will conclude it at CQUniversity on Wednesday 25 July at 12.30pm.
